New England Woodlands
The Forest Trail
No. 01
Miles of winding trails through quiet conservation land, with your dog confidently leading the way. Best in the dappled light of late afternoon, when the woods quiet down.
Autumn · Dappled light
Established · New England
Quietly serious training — with room for mud, mischief, and real progress. For dogs who need more than a transaction, and families who want a life with them.
Our Philosophy
The modern dog is too often under-asked and over-managed. We work from a simpler proposition: that the right relationship is built on shared experience — long mornings on the trail, deliberate stillness in the home, and an unhurried trust earned over time.
We don't just produce pets who follow commands. We help families recover the life they dreamed of with their dog: quieter, relaxed, and a lot more fun.
— Campbell K9s, Est. New England
From the Field
Training doesn’t happen in a brochure. It happens on the trail, in the living room, and in the small moments between commands. Here’s what that actually looks like.
The Collection
Four standing settings where the work of a season becomes visible — one woodland trail, one open field, one quiet stream, one peaceful return home.

Autumn · Dappled light
Shot List
Warm sunset light on tall grass. A dog heeling beside an owner on a rural New England dirt path. Restrained, cinematic.
No chain-link · No concrete yards · No e-collars

Rural New England
No. 02
Wide open spaces where recall is proven. A dog who returns because the relationship is established, not because the leash demands it.
Summer · Golden hour
Shot List
Shallow depth of field, warm tones. Dog behaving beautifully by a quiet New England stream. Cool water, warm tones, owner nearby.
No chain-link · No concrete yards · No e-collars

The Country Stream
No. 03
A cool break on a warm day. A dog who plays with purpose, then settles at the bank. The mark of a finished animal — visible only when nothing happens.
Spring · Soft morning
Shot List
Wide aspect, warm diffuse light. A cozy living room in soft focus behind. A dog resting calmly on a wool blanket, drawn back toward an owner just out of frame.
No chain-link · No concrete yards · No e-collars

The Cozy Interior
The ultimate test of training is life at home. A dog at rest in a space they respect, part of the family without demanding the center of it.
No. 04 · Winter · Hearth light
The Journey
Our work is a continuum, not a catalogue. Each stage opens the next, and each is reserved for a small number of families a year. If it sounds like a lot of intention behind one dog — it is.
Shot List
Quiet morning interior. Wool blanket on a wide-plank floor. A young dog in a sit-stay near a leather leash hanging on a hook. Soft window light, warm tones.
No chain-link · No concrete yards · No e-collars
No branded tees · No harsh midday sun
Stage 01 · Foundation
We bring the dog into our home for two to four weeks. The work is not theatrical — it is daily, consistent, and built on what the dog already wants. You get a different animal back, and the language to keep them that way.
Two to four weeks · In residence
Stage 02 · Discovery
Once the foundation is there, the dog needs the world. Our pack walks move through woodland trails, open fields, and quiet conservation land. Off-leash where appropriate. Always supervised. Always with intent — and usually a little mud.
Standing weekly · Curated pack
Stage 03 · Harmony
This is the result: a dog who is safe off-leash, exercised in body and instinct, and calm enough to rejoin the family in whatever life looks like — guests at the door, errands around town, weekends away, or quiet evenings at home. Training becomes invisible; the life together becomes the point.

The Trainer
I started Campbell K9 because I kept meeting dogs who were being under-asked and over-managed. The good ones — the ones families really want — need structure, yes, but they also need trust, movement, and a sense of humor.
We train seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Most days that means muddy boots, a balanced pack, and a dog who finally understands what’s expected of him.
— Matt Campbell, Lead Trainer

From Our Clients
We did board training for our dog Daisy who was anxious around other dogs and in public settings as a result of abuse prior to us adopting her. With just one week of training, the difference was clear. She is confident, friendly, and takes off-leash hikes happily with the pack each week.

Matt and Mary were so helpful in getting our 1-year old Labradoodle Tate into Training Bootcamp. Matt gave us helpful insight, guidance and training tools to make our lives together with Tate run smoother and happier for all — Thank you!!!

Our main focus was off-leash training, recall, jumping on guests and counter surfing. All behaviors were corrected. Benson has been part of the adventure hikes for 2 years now and absolutely loves it. It gives me peace of mind knowing he is in good hands and they treat him like their own family dog!
